Making your journal digital content more accessible & inclusive Education and Scholarly Resources Webinar – January 21, 2020 at 12:00 ET / 9:00 PT

January 06, 2020 9:33 AM | Anonymous

The CALJ Professional Development Committee is very pleased to invite you to our upcoming webinar focused on the current state of accessible digital content in education and scholarly resources. If you ever wondered about any of the following questions, this webinar is for you!

  • Can the digital content you publish be read by digital screen readers?
  • Is the font your journal uses easy to read for people with visual impairments?
  • Do you include image descriptions for every image you publish in your digital content?

These are just a few considerations when thinking about digital accessibility in education and scholarly communication.

About the Webinar: Accessible Digital Content in Education and Scholarly Resources
In this webinar, Michael Johnson, Director Content Partnerships at Benetech, will provide an update on the current state of accessible digital content, including scholarly resources. Along the way, he will offer some thought-provoking numbers and describe some real-world stories about what print-disabled readers require and on how accessible content has changed their lives. The presentation will provide insight into the ways in which scholarly publishers, journals, and technology can enhance digital resources to make them accessible to everyone. After the presentation, Michael will be available for questions from the audience.

Who should attend:

  • Journal editors and journal editorial and production staff
  • Digital technology providers
  • Everyone with a general interest in accessibility
