In 2008, as technological capacity (and affordability) as well as concerns about online access to journal content had become of increasing interest to the journal community, many CALJ journals were asking questions about back-issue digitization. Shortly after the document was released, incidentally, many journals in Canada found themselves implicated in a class action lawsuit involving Heather Robertson and Proquest. CALJ also contributed resources to ensuring that the interests of journals were understood and protected.
